Introduction

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Drs. Rishiraj or Zahedi manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Drs. Rishiraj or Zahedi practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental extractions, the removal of difficult or impacted teeth (wisdom teeth),  the placement of dental implants and the treatment of dental and skeletal deformities (orthognathic surgery). This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation in our state-of-the-art surgical office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery by our surgical staff.

Surgical/Administrative Staff

An anesthesiologist is also available to provide sedation.   An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who has specialized training to the speciality of anesthesiology. 

All surgical staff at Kamloops Oral Surgery and Implant Center are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. We also have trained registered nurses (RN) to assist during and after surgery.

Our CPR certified administrative personnel are well-versed in all aspects of the operation of our surgical clinic. They will be pleased to assist you with everything from booking your initial consultation and treatment appointments, preauthorizing dental insurance coverage and clarifying extensive treatment plans to booking hospital surgeries and coordinating treatments by multiple providers.
